Description

SHIELD HARDWARE Premium uPVC and Composite Door Letterbox

The SHIELD HARDWARE letterbox delivers a seamless blend of contemporary elegance and robust functionality. Manufactured from galvanized steel with precision and independently tested to surpass industry standards, the letterplate ensures a reliable operation and a prolonged service life.

The letterbox comes with a huge suite of features. A full thermal and acoustic barrier is installed to the external flap to help stop cold and noise penetrating through the letterplate. An extra thick foam weather seal is pre-installed to completely stop draught and cold from getting in around the letterbox. The flaps are one-piece meaning the entire front of the letterplate opens to a full 180 degrees for maximum convenience.

Measuring and Installation

Minimum hole cut size:
To ensure the letterbox is going to fit you must measure your aperture or hole cut size in your door. To do this you first have to fully remove your existing letterbox to reveal the routed hole. Then you should measure the height and width of the hole and compare it to the 'hole cut size' diagram in the images.

Thickness: The second thing you need to measure is the thickness of your door. We offer two sizes of letterbox, a 20-40mm and a 40-80mm to suit all types of doors. Whilst the existing letterbox is removed simply measure the depth of the hole and select the appropriate size range. For example if your door thickness is 45mm then you would need a 40-80mm size.

Installation: Installing the letterbox is extremely simple. Once your old one has been removed slot the two halves of the letterbox into your door and connect them using the two fixing bolts provided with the letterbox.
