Installation

What You'll Need
Tools: Power drill, various drill bits (8mm, 11mm, 13mm, 17mm, 3.5mm), spanner/wrench, rivet gun (optional), pencil, tape measure.
Parts: Main bolt mechanisms, fixing bolts/nuts, escutcheons (keyhole covers), rivets & screws, keys.

1. Mark & Drill Main Bolt Holes
  • With the door closed, hold the main bolt body (lock part) inside the door, about 300mm (12 inches) from the bottom and 20mm (3/4 inch) from the side. Mark its fixing holes.
  • Drill these holes through the door using an 8mm drill bit.
  • Temporarily position the lock, mark the keyhole centre with a 3.5mm drill bit, then enlarge with an 11mm drill bit.
2. Secure Main Bolt Body
  • From outside, push the fixing bolts through the door.
  • From inside, align the main bolt body and secure it with nuts, tightening them firmly with a spanner.
3. Drill Bolt Extension & Receiver Holes
  • Extend the bolt and mark on the door where it meets. TIP: You could apply marker or paint to the tip of the bolt to transfer the mark to the door.
  • Open the door, remove the door bolt and drill a hole with the 13mm drill bit for the bolt to pass through.
  • Extend the bolt again and mark its final locking position on the door frame/wall. Drill this receiver hole using the 13mm drill bit to a sufficient depth. Please note: If you are using the included metal receivers you will need to drill a 17mm hole instead.
4. Install Escutcheon
  • Position the external escutcheon (keyhole cover) over the keyhole on the outside of the door.
  • Using the provided screws, fix the escutcheon to the garage door. If you prefer to use rivets you will need to pre-drill a 3.5mm hole.
Final Check
Test the bolt with the key to ensure it slides smoothly into the receiver hole and locks securely.
Repeat all steps for the second bolt on the other side of your garage door.
