Description
Restricted uPVC Window Hinge Friction Stay Pair
These are restrictor window hinges which means the hinge has a restriction on how wide it is able to open. These hinges are great in rooms where child safety is a concern. You can override the restrictor by pressing a button whilst pushing the window open, this will allow the window to open fully as a normal window would.
Please note that the top hung variants are restricted on both sides. The side hung hinges are only restricted on one side. To help you work out what position you would like the restricted hinge to be in, please view the image guide in the image gallery.
Common Hinge Problems
- Gaps around the window
- Movement on the hinge side of the window
- Draughts or cold around the area of the window
- Clunky operation of the window
- Difficulty opening and closing
WHICH SIDE IS THE RESTRICTORED HINGE ON?
Please view the image in the image gallery to work out where you would like the restricted hinge to be positioned.- The top hung hinges are restricted on both sides.
- The side hung hinges are handed and are only restricted on one side.
Measuring The Hinge
Working out what hinge you need can be quite daunting. However, it's quite simple and here's a little guide to help you.
- A. First you need to work out what hang type you need. On the diagram this is marked as A
- B. Now you need to find out how long your hinge is. This is marked as B
- C. The width of these hinges is 18mm
- D. This is the stack height, which can be either 13mm or 17mm. (See universal way below)
A full technical diagram is included in the image gallery.
