Description
A replacement gearbox for the Cego Surelock door lock mechanism. This is a Genuine Cego gearbox and features a 35mm backset and PZ centres of 70mm and 92mm. The top spindle hole (92mm PZ) is specifically used for door handles with an offset lever/lever or lever/pad function. The offset handles 92mm / 70mm are now discontinued.
This Cego door lock can often be used to replace the discontinued Zenith Staybrite lock that featured a hook rather than the dead bolt shown. We have found that as long as the linkage points are the same it can be used. However, you may find the width of the top latch is wider and you may also need to file the existing hole in the face plate to enable the new latch to operate correctly.
A full technical diagram is included in the image gallery.
