Description

Premium uPVC Door Restrictor - Hold Open

This uPVC door restrictor is suitable for use on all major UPVC profiles and some timber and aluminium featuring a eurogroove.  It's purpose is to restrict your door to a 90 degree opening, stopping it from opening too far and damaging the hinges or door handle. This particular door restrictor also features a hold open function which holds the door in place, stopping it from closing on itself. This is great if you want to open up your french doors in the summer. Please note this function is not designed for use in strong winds.

The restrictor is easy to install and comes with fixing screws included. It's manufactured to a high standard with an extruded aluminium body and stainless steel restrictor arm.

I have a front door with I now know is a Millanco117 lock which the handle was turning but not opening the lock. I found GBDIY online (saw Peter Knights review of similar) and decided to call. The man on the phone asked if I am “handy”. I told him I am DIY handy enough and he said give it a go then. He advises me it would probably be the cam which is broken and not the whole lock. So he told me to buy a new cam for about £20 instead of a whole lock for about £150. Amazing cause if he would have told me I needed a lock i wouldn’t know any better myself. So he saved me probably £130 in parts and also gave me a bit of advise about looking out for the ball bearings inside. That gave me the confidence to have a go myself instead of calling a locksmith which would have cost a fortune probably. Really good. Today with the added help of a YouTube video I have fixed the lock and it is all working perfectly now. Thanks so much. Really good. PS. I tried to add photos but it won’t upload - don’t know why. Please pass this message to the GBDIY team as the man on the phone should remember this and it’s good to have some good feedback I hope!

Finding the right part was made easy with the company's very detailed measurements drawing. I was able to tick each measurement off unlike some websites where I was left scratching my head with just two measurements to compare against. The ordering process was straight forward. I ordered on Friday afternoon and I fitted it on Monday afternoon. That was with just standard postage.
