In this article we will go through all the steps on how to measure upvc door handles. At first glance it might seem quite complicated, however, it’s quite simple because you only need to take two measurements.
How to measure the uPVC door handle PZ
The first and most crucial measurement is the PZ. The PZ is measured from the centre of the handle lever to the centre of the circular part of the key hole. I have included a diagram below which shows measurement B as the PZ.
Measure the backplate fixing centres
The second and final measurement you need is the backplate fixing centres. This is the distance between the two fixing holes. Again, I have included an image below which shows measurement F as the backplate fixing centres.

All upvc door handles can be identified by the combination of these two measurements. There is an industry standard set of combinations which means only certain combinations exist, further reducing the amount of variations. Here is a list of possible combinations.
|PZ Centres||Backplate Fixing Centres|
|92mm||122mm, 162.5mm, 200mm, 210mm, 215mm, 245mm|
